Going out rules
Want some advice as to what to do and not to do when heading out with your mates? Here are some ideas you should take onboard;
First, the basics; Money! Bring it. A lot. Don't be that scrounger that won't buy a round or when its their turn they buy a round of peanuts.
Charge the phone or bring a power bank. Sharing SnapChats until the wee hours is fine but when your battery is dead and you haven't a lift home.... Or you are stuck with someone you need to get away from and you have no battery to text for reinforcements....
Avoid sketchy people. Don't make eye contact with the dodgy lad in the corner. Don't chat with the random dude that is trying to hang out with your gang.
Head out on a full stomach. This will help you stay sober and save money. Who wants to pay 500 euro for a burger and chips? Do you want to pay extortionate prices for a kebab? Probably hamster meat anyway...
Dress code; Simple. Don't dress like your Dad. No hair gel. No sandals or crocs or weird shirts or shiny shoes. Yuk!
Always have a sober friend and always keep an eye on the friend that gets drunk just by passing a pub.
If its a friend's house party don't wreck the gaff. Your friend will kill you for puking in the kitchen or breaking that vase that belonged to his dead Gran. And when you have a house party some day, guess who will puke in your kitchen?
Don't get scuttered. You should take it easy. Why should you ruin your friend's night out because you drank like it was an Olympic event? Nobody should have to babysit you.
Don't do drugs. Like, seriously. Everyone reacts differently to drugs. Your first time popping a pill might just be your last. Even smoking dope can make you do stupid things or give you a bad dose of "I'm-afraid-to-break-wind".
Don't chat up your friend's love interest. Ever. Can lead to murder, bruises, life-long feuds and... well, a terrible night out.
Lastly, leave the guards alone. At 3AM you might think you are smarter, quicker and tougher... however pepper spray, a baton to the head and a free spin with junkies in a paddy wagon might persuade you otherwise.
Eye contact. Don't make it with the DJ, the bouncers or the guards. Not worth it. You may not be asking for trouble but they don't know that until they are throwing you head first out the emergency exit or cuffing you.
Mates are mates. Always have each other's backs.
Have a nice weekend!
