Advice for first years!
Being in first year is hard going sometimes... lots of new rules and people and it can be a big place!
But don't worry, here are some easy guidelines for you to follow, courtesy of the present first years;
First and foremost, get organised!! Don't be that fella that wanders around looking for his books or class or pencil case all day. And then the principal has to make an announcement over the intercom asking everyone to look out for a black Sporthaus bag or pencil case! Learn where everything is and follow your class! Yes, the school is a big place but you will just have to get used to it!
Always be nice to other first years! We don't bully and we need to make everyone welcome.
Next; keep a tidy locker. Have everything neat and ready to pick up or drop off throughout the day. And don't leave crumbs in it! You don't want any furry friends jumping out the next time you reach for a book.
Speaking of food, don't forget your money for the Ref at lunch break or you might be a hangry boy by the end of the day!
Make friends! Then you won't be lost, lonely or unhappy. And you can share your food with the idiot that forgot his lunch money.....
Write down your homework! Use your journal! No, you won't remember it! And then you'll be facing that raging 👿👿👿👿teacher at the top of the class. And we don't want that.
Leave the books you don't want in school. Why walk around like someone climbing Everest and give yourself permanent back problems?
Be on time! Don't annoy teachers. They will harass you for the whole year. If you are the late fella, the teacher can't start their class! They'll explode... And that makes a mess.
Keep every subject in a separate, neat folder. Then you won't have to pull your locker apart and risk getting nibbled by a mouse.
Phones... Don't! Just don't! Unless the teacher asks you to! Talk, communicate, tell jokes. But stay off Tik Tok, Insta and Snapchat! And if your phone is taken off you don't give out, it was your fault! At least put your phone on silent! And... don't be mean on social media!
Follow these simple rules and everything will be ok. Break these rules at your peril....
We hope these ideas might help in some way! Enjoy 1st year!!!!!
